I’m pleased to share news of a recent engagement EE North has completed on behalf of ESP Group – the provider of smart ticketing solutions for leading organisations such as Transport for London, The Scottish Government, and the Association of Train Operating Companies.
The ESP engagement was a prime example of our approach. We provided a small team of highly skilled, experienced software consultants, who worked side-by-side with ESP’s own internal tech team – mentoring them in modern development practices on a daily basis and growing the company’s own ability to develop bespoke software internally.
Introducing new ways of working
Working together, we have implemented new processes and methods. The new normal at ESP Group is one of best practice development; the Scrum framework is in daily use, and we’ve introduced Test Driven Development, automated acceptance testing and pair/mob programming. In short, there is now a clear, well-understood structure for iterative software delivery.
By demonstrating efficient engineering practices on a daily basis, we’ve helped ESP Group to totally re-appraise its approach to development. And it all happened while actively working together on enhancing ESP Group’s core software suite – simultaneously growing its capabilities, as well as the team’s ability to deliver new features in future.
While on the subject of growth, Equal Experts is growing fast in the North. We now have some 80 software consultants hard at work in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle – as well as Hull, where ESP Group is located. We’re always glad to hear from highly skilled, experienced software engineers – as well as potential clients that could benefit from our services, of course.
