Co-working at EE: Less Zoom, More Boom in 2025

Co-working captures some of what makes Equal Experts special. It’s a day of connection, collaboration and learning, sparking new ideas and connections that help us deliver exceptional value to our clients.

In June 2024, more than 500 Equal Experts associates and employees gathered in London for our biggest ever coworking event, which we called an “Über Coworking Day.”

Coworking events are the perfect opportunity for our people to share ideas, swap insights and meet. There’s always an incredible atmosphere, as people who often work remotely enjoy the chance to get together and make new connections.

It’s people that make Equal Experts, so coworking is a vital part of our DNA. It gives everyone the chance to learn, share insights and expand their network, by spending time with other amazing EE people.

The London Über Coworking day was our biggest ever coworking event, but we arrange plenty of other coworking events throughout the year. Mini coworking events are usually attended by 10-40 associates, and provide an opportunity for local network members to collaborate and share knowledge. They typically provide a mix of individual work and group interaction.

Our Mega coworking events are much larger, and can be attended by up to 200 associates. They give us an opportunity to foster loads of collaboration and networking, with small-group sessions throughout the day, along with presentations and the chance to form new connections across the network.

Last year Equal Experts coworking events took place across the UK, Europe, USA, South Africa, Australia and India. Over the last year, we reckon more than 1,000 EE employees, associates, customers and partners attended one of our coworking events.

Taking time out of the office to attend a coworking day is valuable for several reasons:

• It’s the perfect opportunity to let your colleagues see you, not just your Slack profile. It’s an opportunity to showcase your expertise and the unique value you bring. Making new connections fosters trust and helps to keep your name top of mind when new projects arise. So if you’re looking to grow, put yourself out there!
• Coworking days are a fantastic way to learn what’s happening on other engagements, and benefit from your colleagues’ experiences. A single talk or coworking session can spark connections, and collaborating with coworkers can help you find a new approach to thorny problems or complex issues.
• With so many of us working remotely, often from home, a coworking day is also an opportunity to enjoy some social time. Many of our coworking days include a social element, whether it’s the Champagne and Mojito reception at our London coworking day, or the board games championship planned for our forthcoming Manchester mini coworking day.

Many of our coworking days are also attended by customers or partners, making them an invaluable opportunity to build relationships, deepen trust and share learning and knowledge with important stakeholders and partners. The UK North team recently hosted a coworking day attended by partners and key sponsors from a large government agency customer, which received great feedback from everyone who attended. Meanwhile, EE India hosted a coworking week in April and September which were attended by some of our customers.

We have loads of exciting coworking days planned for 2025, kicking off with a Manchester associate alignment day in February.  We’re also making the most of this day to celebrate the UK North business unit’s 10th anniversary!

After that we’ll have more coworking days in Bristol (February), Manchester, Newcastle and Cardiff (all March), York (April), Leeds (March) and a special Pride coworking day in Manchester on the 26th June. We’ll even have our first board game mini co-working day in Manchester on 13th March, for those who love a bit of Gloomhaven or maybe just an overly competitive round of Connect 4. And that’s just the first half of the year!
