Interview Process
Join the grown-ups
Our recruitment for the Equal Experts global network focuses on the person just as much as the skillset.
We are looking for responsible, self-disciplined people who show the depth of experience and the personal standards we need to create high-performing, ego-free teams. You might describe them as ‘grown-ups’ because they need to have a mature attitude. It’s no coincidence that most of our people have at least 10 years of experience in their trade. They are also the kind of people who are good at picking up new skills.
So if you feel you’re 90% there, don’t let the 10% put you off from talking to us. Especially if you’re the kind of person who is willing to learn something new.
Have a look at our values. The people we want should find themselves nodding along. If you’re not, we may not be right for you.
What it takes to join our network
We know interviews can be stressful. But we don’t think interviews should be about how you deal with interview stress. So instead, we want you to be prepared to let your skills, experience and practical attitude shine through. After all, these are the things we want to know about.
To join our network you need to go through a series of interviews and possibly a practical test. Our interview process is different for each discipline, as you would expect. Whatever your job type, it will involve one or more screening phases, a technical skills interview and a soft skills interview.
It may seem like a lot, but this is the start of a long-lasting relationship. We want to make sure you have the right skills, experience and attitude to make your assignments with Equal Experts a success. You will only have to go through it once, no matter how many contracts you have with us.
Our advice? Be yourself. If we are a match, it will be plainly obvious.
The application process
If you have done the years and have the experience and skills we need, put it on your CV and send it to us.
Our recruitment team will want to talk to you about how you work, how you think and what you do to succeed. If you have the right motivation and practical attitude, it’s on to the next step.
For some roles, we will ask you to complete a short assignment in your own time before your technical skills interview.
If required, we will send you a problem statement and ask you to use your knowledge, skills and experience to explain how you’d tackle it. As a guide, we expect it will take about 90 minutes.
In this interview, we will explore if you have the day-to-day technical skills to do the job.
If you were asked to complete a take home assignment, part of the interview will be based on this work. This will be a Zoom interview and you will need to be able to screen share, so we can see your work.
It’s not just what you do, but how you do it in a consultancy that matters for our customers.
This stage will ensure that we are on the same page about the way we work together and for our clients. We need to know you can work with our values. This interview will also be conducted on Zoom.
